PE and sport have a high profile around the school. We have four full time and two part time members of the PE department and both a sports hall and gym. The changing rooms have just been refurbished and the department have their own teaching space, equipped with PCs and an interactive whiteboard. The department cover not only PE but health and nutrition as well.

At KS4 all students study one of GCSE PE, BTEC sport or BTEC health and social care within the core curriuclum. In the sixth form students can study either A level PE or BTEC Sport.

All students have 2 hours of core PE per week.  For more information about the courses and assessment please follow the assessment link.

We have both sports ambassadors and JSLA  and run the Duke of Edinburgh Award. This is open to all students from year 10 onwards.

We have an extensive programme of extra-curricular activities with teams and clubs covering all the main sports. We have very good links with the local gymnastics club and liaise closely with our primary feeders through the SSCo.

Students should make sure that all items of kit are named, so that in the event that it is lost it can be returned to them.

Students have the opportunity to shower at the end of every lesson.

If a student is unable to take part in the physical part of the lesson, then he or she will be expected to have kit and help with the coaching, officiating and in the organisation of the lesson.
