Art & Photography

The art department is a thriving and expanding department that offers a variety of courses across the key stages.

Our facilities are excellent with three bespoke art rooms. The department also has access to our Apple Mac suite of 30 machines. We work in partnership with a variety of outside agencies that provide funding for artist workshops in a variety of media. The department is staffed with two full time teachers and a part time technician.

Extra Curricular activities play a significant role in the art department, clubs with changing focus are run for both upper and lower school. Art students participate in school productions through helping to create set designs.

The department contributes significantly to whole school displays and creates an exciting environment for students to learn in.

About the Art and Design attainment target and level description

The attainment target in art and design sets out the knowledge, skills and understanding that students of different abilities and maturities are expected to have by the end of each key stage. Attainment targets consist of eight level descriptions of increasing difficulty, plus a description of exceptional performance above level 8. Each level description describes the type and range of performance that students working at that level should characteristically demonstrate.
