Fine Art, Photography, Textiles and Graphics

The art department is a thriving and expanding department offering a wide range of popular options at both GCSE and A Level. There are two full time and one part time art teachers and a full time art technician.

Students interest in art and design is developed at KS3 by exploring a wide range of topics from art in other cultures to graphic and logo design.

In KS4 students are able to select from three different options:

  • Graphic communication
  • Textiles
  • Fine art

In KS5 students can select from 2 A level options:

  • Fine art
  • Photography

The students studying these options explore a diverse curriculum throughout the course of study, developing both a wide range of art and craft skills as well as transferable skills such as independent learning, problem solving and time management.

The department contributes significantly to school displays and creates an exciting environment for students to learn in.
