Duke of Edinburgh

The Duke of Edinburgh's Award is the world's leading achievement award for young people. It encourages young people to live life as an adventure. The programme has three levels, bronze, silver and gold. At Epsom and Ewell High School we offer the bronze and silver awards only

For the bronze and silver awards, students complete projects under four different sections:

  • Volunteering (with individuals, charities or in the community)
  • Physical (sports, dance or fitness)
  • Skills
  • Expedition (training for, planning and completing an
    adventurous journey)

We support students with their voluntary, physical and skills activities, which they largely organise themselves. However, we provide direct training and support for the expeditions, with after-school training and weekend practice hikes taking place on a regular basis.
