Economics is taught at A level for those who want to understand more about the world around them and why it functions as it does. The subject allows students to investigate challenging and pressing issues facing the world today. The key economic question of scarcity is addressed and students will look at how resources can be allocated efficiently. Economics is part of the Commerce Department. Economics has a main classroom with an interactive whiteboard and the students have access to an ICT suite with 30 networked PCs.
