'Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility'

Epsom and Ewell High School recognises its moral and statutory responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of all children.

We also recognise that our staff are in a unique position in the care of children. The responsibility of all staff to safeguard pupils and promote their welfare as stated in sections 157 and 175 of the Education Act (2002) is one that is central to our ethos, policies and actions.

All young people are deserving of the highest levels of care and safeguarding, regardless of their individual characteristics or circumstances, and we are committed to applying this to ensure effective levels of safeguarding and care are afforded to all our pupils.

On this page you will find school specific informantion along with details of local support organisations in the community (both for students and parents). Our safeguarding and child protection policy can be found under About us / key information and policies / school policies.

Safeguarding children whilst they are online is becoming an increasing area of risk. For more information around this, please read through the NSPCC Guidance on Online Safety - Keeping children safe online | NSPCC, or watch their video available here:

If you have any questions or concerns about the safeguarding of your child, or any other child, please contact me at DSL@eehs.surrey.sch.uk.

If you child would like to report their concerns directly, they can speak to any member of staff, send a private email to their tutor or Head of Year, or they can report their worry through Concerns on ClassCharts.

We believe that children who are safe and feel cared for are most likely to excel and look forward to working with you to achieve this.

Mrs Hannah Davold
