Welcome from the Headteacher

It is a privilege to welcome you to Epsom and Ewell High School. Having been part of this exceptional community since 2015, I have seen first-hand the dedication, talent and care that define our staff and students. I am honoured to lead EEHS into its next chapter as Headteacher, building on our successes and shaping our future with integrity, ambition and compassion.

At EEHS, our mission is simple yet ambitious: to empower future generations to thrive in tomorrow’s world. We are a values-driven community built on kindness, respect, and high expectations, where positive relationships are the foundation of everything we do. We champion equality, diversity and inclusion, creating an environment where every pupil feels valued, confident, and inspired to be their authentic self.

Our curriculum is built around three interconnected pillars: Engage, Empower, and Excel.
  • Engage - Innovative teaching sparks curiosity and encourages active participation. Every subject is taught with ambition, ensuring all students, regardless of background or starting point, experience a rich, challenging curriculum that ignites a love of learning

  • Empower - We equip students with the knowledge, skills and confidence to navigate their educational journey and future careers. Our curriculum reflects our diverse community, fostering empathy, resilience and global awareness.

  • Excel - High expectations, strong pastoral care, and a wide range of enrichment opportunities enable students to succeed in school and beyond, developing the adaptability and creativity needed for the future.

This model ensures that every young person leaves EEHS not only with strong academic outcomes but also with the self-belief and independence to thrive in life.

Our teaching is underpinned by evidence-based practice, drawing on Rosenshine’s Principles.

Four key strategies are embedded consistently across lessons to support progress for every pupil:
  • Do Now: low-stakes starters that activate prior knowledge and set a purposeful tone
  • Turn and Talk: structured discussions that deepen understanding and inclusion
  • I do – We do – You do: a gradual release model that scaffolds learning and builds mastery
  • Independent Practice: purposeful tasks that promote fluency, rigour and confidence

Through these approaches, we ensure a consistent, high-quality learning experience for all.

As Headteacher, my commitment is to provide leadership that is supportive and empowering. I believe a school flourishes when both students and staff feel valued, supported and inspired to succeed. I am excited to continue working with our students, families and the local community to ensure EEHS remains a school where every child succeeds.
